Welcome

Dear Christian,

I’ve written and re-written this welcome post so many times in order to try to convey what this blog means to me and what I hope to achieve by writing it. But every time, it comes out wrong.

Maybe a blog isn’t the best idea after all. But at this point, I’m committed.

Starting a blog of this nature is something that’s been on my heart for a long time, but I’ve never had the courage to take the leap. But the last 4 or 5 years have been so hard for people. Political tensions are high. Cancel culture is in full swing. Racism is still alive and well. People have been forced to sit at home and watch their loved ones die over a screen because they weren’t allowed in the hospital. The list goes on and on. Through it all, I notice a common theme. A theme of hate, an idea of ‘us vs them’.

Christian brothers and sisters – what better time to show God’s love and grace than in a climate that we are in right now. It is time for us to acknowledge that the church is not perfect. No one has all of the answers (no, not even the church). And even some of the answers that we think we have, aren’t quite right.

Because of this, I want to challenge Christians and non-Christians alike. Reflect on your beliefs. Why do you believe what you believe? Are your beliefs rooted in truth? Tradition? Something else?

My goal is to build a community of people who want to be different. Who want to fill this darkness with love and light rather than more hurt and pain.

I write this blog with a Christian audience in mind. However, if you’re not a Christian, and you’ve found your way over here, welcome.

I don’t have all the answers. Anyone who says they do is probably lying. But I believe that questions, especially difficult ones lead to answers. Sometimes, you get lucky and find the answer to a question you didn’t even know you had. So please, join me on this journey. I’m sharing with you, a piece of my heart, openly given to you. All you need to do is ask.

Whoever you are, and wherever you’re from, I’m glad you’re here. I want to hear from you. Comment, subscribe, engage on social media, send me an email, shoot up a flare. I’m with you.

May God use me, and this space, for His glory.

Much Love,
Ashley
